Today, we are mourning President Jimmy Carter, reflecting on his extraordinary life and lasting legacy as a public servant and humanitarian. He will be remembered as an unrelenting force for good who lived his faith in every aspect of his life.
President Carter and Rosalynn touched the lives of Minnesotans in many ways, including through their Habitat for Humanity work projects. They personally helped build and rehab homes for dozens of families right here in our state.
Vice President Mondale's words are emblazoned on the wall of the Carter Center in Atlanta: “We told the truth. We obeyed the law. We kept the peace.”
President Carter had an unwavering commitment to the American people and the Constitution, and we must continue on that legacy.
