Minnesota's 2025 legislative session begins on Tuesday, January 14. We are working on a bipartisan policy in 2025, a pro-family public policy which members of both parties support. Bipartisan policy is especially significant in 2025, given the nature of our split legislative government after the November 2024 elections. We are excited to share more details with you regarding this legislation soon.
Alongside the rest of the team at Minnesota Family Council, I am continuously preparing to advance good legislation and to defend against bad legislation expected to arise such as on the so-called Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), physician-assisted suicide, surrogacy, and mobile sports gambling. |

Minnesota Family Council will continue to defend against legislation that we oppose which the legislature has debated in previous sessions: -
The so-called ERA, a proposed state constitutional amendment which grants constitutional protection to abortion and “gender identity.”
- Assisted suicide legalization, which according to bill language in 2024, would permit doctors to prescribe a lethal dose of drugs to an adult who has received a terminal diagnosis with 6 months or less to live.

Commercial surrogacy legalization, which passed the Minnesota House in 2024, would legalize the for-profit trade of children to unrelated adult(s) in Minnesota, across the country, and across the globe. Commercial surrogacy did not receive a vote in the Minnesota Senate in 2024.

Mobile sports betting legalization, which would legalize a casino in the pocket of every Minnesotan and allow the predatory sports gambling industry to profit off the most addicted gamblers.
