John, The news about vote-by-mail has been a whirlwind. We want every Texan to cast their ballot safely. For the last two months, we’ve been fighting to expand vote-by-mail to everyone: winning the support of state legislators, earning media articles, calling thousands of voters and spreading the word. Our take-home message: vote-by-mail is the best way to protect public health and our democracy. The Texas Attorney General has fought us at every turn. In April, Texas Democrats won a state court lawsuit, but the GOP Texas Supreme Court stopped the decision from taking effect. This week, we again won a lawsuit, this time in federal court — and again a conservative appellate court stopped the decision. One thing is for certain — Democrats are working to protect our right to vote and Republicans are working to suppress it. Here’s what Ken Paxton and Texas Republicans know: COVID-19 is a threat to every Texan and voting in-person puts people at risk. But they also know that when everyone is able to vote, the GOP will lose. Donate $5 Donate $10 Donate $25 Donate $50 DONATE $100
The reality of COVID-19 creates new challenges. We built our campaign to knock on every door and take our message straight to voters. Now, we are making calls to let people know about the upcoming election and that takes resources. Fighting for you, "> |
