Millions of LGBTQ+ Americans may soon have to go to work each day knowing they could be fired for who they are or who they love -- all because of the Supreme Court.

LGBTQ+ Rights Are On the Line Because of the Republican Supreme Court, millions of LGBTQ+ Americans could soon have to go to work each day knowing they could be fired for who they are or whom they love Share why you care about protecting LGBTQ+ Americans Aimee Stephens was fired from her job for being transgender. Don Zarda and Gerald Lynn Bostock were fired from their jobs for being gay. Aimee, Don, and Gerald were not alone: nearly two-thirds of LGBTQ+ Americans report that they have faced discrimination in their personal lives. This is unacceptable.
Soon the Supreme Court will be deciding whether federal law protects Americans from being fired from their jobs because of whom they love or how they identify.
The vast majority of Americans, regardless of political party, don't think employers should be able to fire people for being LGBTQ+. Yet over half of all LGBTQ+ Americans live in states where state law doesn’t protect them against workplace discrimination, so their only protection is the federal Civil Rights Act.. Now the Supreme Court could strip them of those protections too.
But the Supreme Court has been captured by fringe, far-right interests. Trump’s judges have embraced a radical anti-LGBTQ+, discrimination-forward agenda, from their shameful decision to allow Trump’s transgender military ban to go into effect to their refusal to side with LGBTQ+ people who face discrimination in bakeries, flower shops, and other public places.
