Dear John,

As we begin the new year, I’m filled with gratitude, hope, and determination. 

First, thank you. Your generosity during the year-end giving season and steadfast support throughout the year inspire us daily. Whether through donations, sharing our mission, or offering words of encouragement, your actions fuel our work and keep us moving forward.  

I’m hopeful because, despite the challenges ahead, we stand united on the side of justice. Together, we are working toward a brighter future—one where children enjoy their fundamental rights and where we all thrive in a climate that protects our health and the natural beauty we cherish. The courage of our youth plaintiffs inspires me every day. Partnering with them strengthens my belief that we can and will prevail.

I’m determined because I know what’s at stake. When I joined Our Children’s Trust, I did so with the conviction that without the right to a healthy climate, no other rights are secure. Five years later, that conviction is stronger than ever, and our growing victories deepen my resolve. 

Looking ahead, 2025 holds incredible promise: a new case in Florida, preparing for trial in Canada, anticipated decisions in our existing litigation, and building on our victories in Hawaiʻi and Montana, we will scale our impact and seize new opportunities in new states and globally.  Thanks to your unwavering support, we provide high-level legal representation, strategic communications and civic engagement training, and trauma-informed care to our young clients and their families—all at no cost to them.  

Together, we are building youth power and forging critical partnerships. I look forward to sharing updates on our progress in this critical fight for children’s fundamental rights to a safe, livable climate.
