In the wake of Donald Trump's historic win and solid Republican victories across the country, the 119th Congress got underway with what should have been a unifying vote. But Mr. Himes is anything but a unifying presence in this congress. My assessment appears below and as an article in today's Connecticut Centinal.

Jim Himes Votes Against the Laken Riley Act - AGAIN!!

By Bob MacGuffie

Well it didn’t take long for Himes to betray his constituents yet again. In the first vote of the 119th Congress, Jim Himes took the opportunity to mis-represent us in a most disgusting way. Laken Riley was murdered by a multiple-offending illegal immigrant in Georgia. Following Miss Riley’s brutal murder last February, the House put up legislation in March, calling for the detention by ICE of illegal immigrants implicated in local theft or burglary charges. Not surprisingly, Jim Himes voted against the bill, which did pass the House. I covered that vote in an Article at the time.

Following the will of the people last November, the Republicans resurfaced the bill for the first vote of this session on Tuesday. This time the bill again passed with all Republicans and several more Democrats in support, some 48 Democrats. The final vote count was 264 to 159 – see Rep count Here. Of the Connecticut delegation, Himes was joined by Larson and DeLauro, also voting against it. With a 22-point margin in the election, Himes continues to feel like he can do as he pleases, and his boss, Hakeem Jeffries of Brooklyn, will see that Himes does the bidding of the radical vanguard of the Democrat party. Judging by Himes’ margins over the past decade, no one considers CT-4 a swing district any longer. In the CT Districts considered competitive, the 2nd and the 5th, Hayes and Courtney voted yes on the bill - with the Republicans. The bill now moves to the Senate, where we expect it has some chance of passing, as the Republicans are now the majority.

Can there be any doubt that the man hogging the CT-4 congressional seat, who deigns to ‘represent’ 700,000 CT citizens, embodies complete fealty to the Democrats’ radical progressive ideology? After everything about Trump’s historic victory that’s been expressed and realized in public over the past two months, four days into the new congress Himes again shoves it into the faces of the citizens of Fairfield County. After 51 straight losses in CT federal elections across senate and house seats, since 2006, any attempt by Republicans to publicly express any phrase associating Himes with ‘Moderate’ is destructive to any effort to unseat him in the next election. How many times do we have to repeat this experiment?!

Connecticut, and especially Fairfield County is ‘blue-captured’ by mass-media, as I outlined in my Iron Cloak article in 2022. Hearst, Comcast, NBC et al will never give us the oxygen to thrive – we need to take it by action, utilizing independent and social media, and making news the mass-media cannot ignore. Our 20+ point losses have proven that skirmishing around any ‘middle ground’ with this man is a prescription for letting down the solid citizens of the Fourth District. The only reason we hire a congressional representative is to vote on our behalf. And Himes’ string of votes, subversive to his constituents over the past two years should be hung around his head and referenced by Republicans in all media whenever his name surfaces.

If Himes has the nerve to hold a town-hall he needs to be challenged on his two-year deception of us on Biden’s mental health, and his utterly opportunistic “step-aside” flip.  His self-damning voting record also needs to be referenced at the microphones for his constituents to hear in full.

Our neighbors don’t yet realize it, but we are being mis-“represented” by a highly influential critical operative advancing the radical, subversive agenda that has been rejected by our fellow countrymen at the last election. Connecticut doesn’t have to live like this. Why can’t CT-4 put the first crack in the fragile Blue Wall of New England?
