Dear John,

On this day last year, 23rd May 2019, I was proud to be elected as one of the seven Green Party MEPs.

Following on from our best ever local election results earlier in the month, we won 12% of the votes across the country, 3% more than the Conservatives, and more than doubled our number of MEPs from 3 to 7.

Today, I wanted to remind you of what we can achieve when we work together.

Our campaign focussed on working with our friends in Europe to take the action needed to stop climate breakdown. We will continue to do this even though we are no longer part of the EU.

This election also proved that when our members come together for a campaign, we can achieve amazing results.

We will take this lesson forward over the next year in our campaign for a Green Recovery from the coronavirus pandemic and to make sure that the 2021 elections are even more successful than those in 2019.
