Oh, also, Donald admitted he won't be able to do much to bring down the price of eggs, either. Neat!

This being the Trump era, there is no Leni Riefenstahl to weave the right's obscene propaganda, so this job is apparently falling on the shoulders of one of Donald's billionaire space bros to get the job done. Fun fact: Amazon has reportedly brought on disgraced director Brett Ratner, credibly accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women, to direct the multi-million-dollar fluff piece. What a world.

Fast-moving wildfires raging through Los Angeles have left Hollywood movie actors and reality TV stars fleeing their hillside mansions, as wind-whipped blazes devastated affluent neighborhoods along the coast. More than 30,000 people have been put under evacuation orders in LA, and a state of emergency has been declared as the infernos swept through the Pacific Palisades, a ritzy area near Malibu popular with celebrities. The fires moved so quickly that many simply abandoned their cars in the road, forcing the fire department to deploy bulldozers to shove vehicles out of way so that firefighters could get through to the fast-spreading blazes.
GOP-controlled North Carolina Supreme Court blocks certification of Democrat as winner of close high court race
Pay attention, America: We are watching a state Supreme Court seat being stolen by the GOP, out in the open for all to see. The Republicans on the North Carolina state Supreme Court have blocked the state board of elections from certifying the victory of Democratic Justice Allison Riggs, who won the race by a razor-thin 734 votes after a recount, so they can hear her opponent's bullshit legal efforts to have 60,000 (!) ballots thrown out — but only for the Supreme Court seat, not any other races on those same ballots. Makes perfect sense! Our democracy is being dismantled before our very eyes, and the institutions we always expected to protect us have been corrupted and co-opted by Republicans masquerading as patriots.

The general sense of capitulation towards Donald Trump and the GOP shown by business leaders across America is also giving a swath of Democrats the green light to get more racist and openly swing rightward on immigration. 48 House Democrats voted with all 216 GOP members for a severe anti-immigration crackdown bill that fundamentally allows states to challenge the federal government on immigration policy and would allow undocumented immigrants to be deported on accusation of crime, not conviction. "If the Laken Riley Act passes, Ken Paxton or Andrew Bailey could go to a federal judge to get a court order requiring the State Department to stop issuing *all* visas to Indian and Chinese nationals. It could have huge international ramifications," writes Immigration Council Fellow Aaron Reichlin-Melnick. This is a deeply serious bill that could upend American immigration law as we know it, which is why it's beyond infuriating to hear supposed Democrat John Fetterman telling FOX NEWS, "If Democrats can’t get 7 votes in the Senate to pass the Laken Riley Act, then that’s the reason why we lost...If you're here illegally and you're committing crimes, I don't know why anybody thinks that it's controversial, that they all need to go." Cool! Thanks, Mr. Progressive! What does the Democratic Party stand for again?

The MAGA cult leader shared a blistering critique of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by economics professor Jeffrey Sachs that blasts the leader for having dragged the United States into "phony wars" in Iraq and Syria. Trump posted the clip to Truth Social just hours after his batshit crazy press conference on Tuesday, where he warned there would be "hell" to pay if Hamas does not release Israeli hostages taken during the October 7 attack by the time he returns to the White House. In the clip, which, again Trump boosted to his millions of followers, Sachs can be heard calling out previous Washington administrations for using "lies and deceit" to manufacture citizen backing for overseas conflicts before rounding on Netanyahu’s influence on US foreign policy.
