Who is the veteran in your life? Whether a neighbor,
friend, small business owner, teacher or family member, veterans play an
integral part in shaping our local community and national history.
Sometimes hidden in plain sight, their service and sacrifices often go
unnoticed. What better way to honor the veteran in your life than to
listen to their experiences and preserve these memories so that they can
instruct and inspire future generations? Thankfully, Congress
established the Veterans History Project to help achieve this
goal.
My office is teaming up
with the Library of Congress to host a Veterans History Project
Day on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Laramie County Community
College in Cheyenne. Visit my website or
Facebook event if you are interested in
volunteering or participating.
We need your help in collecting the
personal narratives of the more than 47,000 veterans who call Wyoming home. I encourage you to
volunteer or share your story to be a part of this historic
endeavor!

Enzi releases ideas to fix broken congressional
budget and spending process
U.S.
Senate Budget Committee Chairman Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., today released
several proposals to fix America’s broken budget and spending process
gleaned from hearings and meetings with members of Congress, state
officials, the Administration and stakeholder groups.
“We can all agree that the current budget and spending
system has broken down,” said Enzi. “I am hopeful that
through this process, we will be able to reach bipartisan agreement to end
the current dysfunction and put our country on a path toward a more
sustainable fiscal future.”

Enzi applauds Administration for
supporting refinery jobs
Enzi issued the following statement after the
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced it was granting 31 Small
Refinery Exemptions, which help Wyoming's refineries by reducing regulatory
burdens:
“I am glad the EPA recognized that
exemptions from the Renewable Fuel Standard are necessary for small refineries
to compete,” Enzi said. “The energy industry is essential
to Wyoming’s economy and our nation’s energy independence.
This decision to grant waivers for refineries that would otherwise
see severe economic harm is good for workers in Wyoming and across the
country.”

Bipartisan resolution
recognizes workforce development as vital to economic
growth
Enzi and U.S. Senators Dianne Feinstein,
D-Calif., Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., and Todd Young, R-Ind., introduced a
bipartisan resolution to encourage investment in education and training
for American workers by designating September 2019 as “National
Workforce Development Month.” The resolution supports federal
programs that promote workforce development and recognizes the crucial
role they play in growing our economy.
“Growing a strong economy starts with preparing the next generation
with proper technical education,” Enzi said. "This September, we
celebrate initiatives and programs that help students obtain valued
skills."

Enzi applauds deal to export more U.S. beef to the
E.U.
Enzi issued the
following statement after President Trump formally announced a deal to
open up the European Union to more U.S. beef exports:
“The
announcement to increase the amount of American beef that can be sold in
the European Union market is good for our ranchers, our economy and our
country,” Enzi said. “We produce some of the highest
quality beef in the world, and I am glad Wyoming farmers and ranchers will
