Today's inflation data shows that the Albanese Labor government has been trying to hide inflation, not fight it.
 
The increase in electricity prices show Labor has spent billions of taxpayers’ dollars rigging the numbers, rather than addressing inflation at the source.
 
Underlying electricity prices are more than 32% higher than they were last election.
 
Labor has done nothing to address the issues in our energy system. 
 
Australian families and small businesses know this, because they feel it every day in their bank accounts.  
 
Since Labor was elected, prices are up more than 10%. This includes double digit increases across the board for essentials: 

- Health up 10%
- Education up 11%
- ⁠Food up 12%
- ⁠Housing up 14%
- ⁠Rents up 17%
- ⁠Insurance & financial up 18%
- ⁠Electricity up 32% (without rebates)
- ⁠Gas up 36%

High inflation means high interest rates. Last year, Australia was one of the few developed countries where interest rates did not come down. 
 
High inflation, interest rates and taxes mean that over the last two years, Australia has had the biggest collapse in real disposable income (living standards) in the developed world.
