Yesterday, Congress officially certified the 2024 election results, declaring Donald Trump the next President of the United States. This was not the election result I had hoped for. However, certifying the results cast by the American people is part of my duty as your senator.

No matter who is in charge, I will always stand true to my obligations to the people of Delaware and of the entire nation. I am proud to stand up for what’s right, and to hold true the priorities of those I serve. That means fighting for lower healthcare costs, strengthening reproductive freedoms, and finding real solutions to climate change.

I can say this confidently because my biggest motivator in office is you – not party politics or partisan agendas. It’s your priorities that I work for every day. It’s your needs that I’m aiming to meet with the legislation I vote for and support.
