Fellow Advocate,

As the new session of the PA General Assembly convened for the first time today, families across Pennsylvania continued to suffer the devastating effects of gun violence in their communities. A teenager was critically wounded in a West Philly shooting last night,[1] and in Pittsburgh, another teenager remains hospitalized after his brother accidentally shot him in the face.[2]

The lives of these kids, their families, and their communities will be forever changed by this trauma, and it all may have been prevented if we only had the right gun violence prevention policies in place in Pennsylvania. Now is the time to put our legislature to work, and demand that gun safety is at the top of the agenda.

We have a lot to accomplish this session, so it’s crucial that we hit the ground running today . We’re sending out a call to legislators on both sides of the Capitol, reminding them that they work for us, and demanding they prioritize the safety of all our communities this legislative session. Will you join us by urging your State Representative and Senator Nikil Saval to put gun safety at the top of their agenda this session? [[link removed]]
