Microdata Access Tool [ [link removed] ]

In December, we released updates to improve your experience on data.census.gov based on user feedback. We're pleased to share these enhancements, designed to make your experience easier and more efficient as you navigate the site.

*What's New?*

*Refreshed Microdata Access Tool (MDAT**):* We’re excited to announce the launch of our refreshed Microdata Access Tool [ [link removed] ], designed to offer a more consistent look and feel with the rest of the site [ [link removed] ].

Discover some noteworthy updates:


* *URL Migration:* If you have saved URLs from your previous MDAT searches, on the bottom of the landing page simply enter the saved URLs and select “Go” to load the table on the refreshed MDAT site.
* *Selected Geographies:* This button is now located in the Variables tab. Click the button and the pop-up window will appear, allowing you to choose your geographies. There's also a new option to “Select All” geographies with a single click.
* Find changes to *buttons, icons, names, and locations*. These updates are designed to improve navigation and make it easier to access the features you need.
* *Video Tutorial and Webinar: *We’ve also released a video tutorial [ [link removed] ] and webinar [ [link removed] ] on exploring the Microdata Access Tool. These resources can guide you through new features and help you get the most out of MDAT.

*New Charting Capabilities**:* We've added the ability to create customized charts to give you more flexibility to visualize data from tables on data.census.gov.

Access the new “Charts” tab in the navigation bar on the landing page of data.census.gov, positioned between the “Maps” and “Profiles” tabs.


* *Chart Type**: *
* *Bar and column charts:* These charts visualize the selected measure in horizontal or vertical bars. Options are included for sorting the data in ascending, descending, or alphanumeric order.
* *Line charts:* These charts will visualize the selected measure over time.

*Geography Profiles:* This feature now provides decennial census data for the latest congressional district boundaries (119th Congress). Additional data will be added for these geographies in future releases.

*How can I keep my geographies when searching for a new table?*

Data.census.gov [ [link removed] ] allows you to edit a table ID or other text in the single search bar while maintaining your geography selections.

After editing text in the single search bar, press enter or click the magnifying glass icon to run the search. This will keep geographies you have previously selected via the filter panel in the new search.
