This weekend, Hoosiers across the state will be getting out and enjoying their Memorial Day weekend.

 

And while we’re out and about, it’s important that we’re being safe – and that we know the businesses we’re visiting are being safe, too. Hoosiers deserve to know everyone is taking the necessary precautions to show their Hoosier hospitality and keep us safe.

 

You know what you need to do to be safe – wear your mask, keep a six foot social distance, wash your hands frequently, use hand sanitizer, etc.

 

But what resources are available to help make sure our Indiana businesses are staying safe, too?

• PPE: The Indiana Small Business PPE Marketplace has already shipped more than 20,000 bundles of PPE to our Hoosier small businesses – which includes masks, hand sanitizer and face shields. The state expects to ship 90,000 PPE bundles by June 24.
• Critical Agencies Hotline: With the launch of Phase 3 today, businesses likely have some questions about what’s required for them to open. They can get answers by calling the Indiana Critical Agencies Hotline at 877-820-0890 or by emailing [email protected].
• Occupancy Concerns: If you have questions or concerns about a businesses’ occupancy limits or code enforcement, you can contact the Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS) or your local fire marshal. You can reach the IDHS at [email protected].

Like Governor Holcomb has said, the hard part starts now. We’ve all done a great job hunkering down at home – and now as we begin to return to our normal routines, it’s critical that we continue to do our part to keep our fellow Hoosiers safe.
