It’s January, John, a time when many people make resolutions about how they want to live and what they want to prioritize.

This year, we hope your resolutions include an ongoing commitment to volunteering with VoteRiders. We appreciate everything you’ve done already, and we’re ready to keep working with you to help even more voters secure housing and employment, access healthcare and financial services, travel — and of course, vote.

We have a number of volunteer opportunities available all year long, resuming later this month and going strong all year:

• Resolve to give one hour a month: Attend a textbank or letter writing party, or write letters on your own time, to reach out to at-risk voters and give them important and timely information about what ID they need to vote.
• Resolve to give one hour a week: Become a Helpline or Chat volunteer and help people in real time as they have questions about what paperwork they need to obtain an ID, or what ID they need to vote.
• Resolve to give 2-4 hours a week: Become a Voter ID Assistance Volunteer and work with voters one-on-one in person or virtually to navigate difficult bureaucracy and secure their ID.
