Thanks to you, 2024 saw some incredible actions and victories for animals in captivity:

  • Many new zoos denied planning permission
  • No less than 4 investigations carried out
  • 1 zoo closure
  • New reports published on mobile zoos and circuses
  • Many actions taken by thousands of supporters, including those to close zoos, ban the keeping of elephants in zoos, free penguins and against mobile zoo events
  • And so much more....

With the successes of 2024 behind us, let's look forward to the coming year, and the impact we can have, together.

Kate the elephant currently lives in Blackpool Zoo. She was captured in India in 1969 and has lived in captivity ever since. She has faced many gruelling times with no end in sight. We will continue to call for an end to the keeping of elephants in zoos! And continue to fight for those who are in captivity and demand they be released to sanctuaries.
