Trump, who incited insurrection and refused a peaceful transfer of power four years ago, accuses Biden of making transition "as difficult as possible"
You read that right. The MAGA cult leader, who was impeached for inciting a resurrection and refusing a peaceful transfer of power four years ago, is now publicly complaining that President Biden is engaging in "lawfare such as has never been seen before" to make Donald's return to the Oval Office more difficult. Not a joke. Not The Onion. You may recall that, in addition to siccing a violent mob to storm the US Capitol, Trump engaged in months of legal chicanery to stop Biden from taking office, begged elected officials like then-Vice President Mike Pence and others to violate US law and halt the formal transition process, and — after all attempts to steal a second term failed — refused to attend Biden's inauguration on Jan. 20, 2021. But, yes, Joe Biden is clearly making this month's transition "as difficult as possible" by, ya know, governing and fulfilling the duties of the presidency until his term officially ends.

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Trump issues unhinged message during electoral certification
Even as the MAGA cult leader benefited from the very certification process he denied Joe Biden four years ago, still he continued to put on full display just how unqualified he is for the job he's about to take by yet again driving a wedge between the United States and our closest ally.

Trump launches full-scale attack on education
MoveOn: Donald Trump and his radical cronies like Linda McMahon and Vivek Ramaswamy want to ABOLISH the Department of Education, stripping away all protections for LGBT students and turning our public schools into for-profit scams. Will you add your name to demand he stop his efforts to kill the Department of Education?
Musk suggests Americans should "liberate" the British from their "tyrannical government"
The world's richest man-toddler just can't stop inserting himself into conversations where his input is clearly not welcomed. Weeks after recklessly throwing his support behind Germany's far-right, anti-immigrant AfD Party, the billionaire ketamine enthusiast has turned his fleeting attention to Great Britain and an escalating row with the UK's ruling Labour Party. Musk, scientific as ever, posted a stupid poll on nüTwitter asking his followers if America “should liberate" the British from their "tyrannical government." He went on to add that it was "not a bad idea" for Britain to become a US state. Serious question: what the f*ck is wrong with this man?

Trump lawyers scramble to block "imminent" release of Jack Smith’s report on criminal charges
But wait! If the convicted felon and president-elect did nothing wrong and behaved "beautifully" and "perfectly," then there should be nothing to fear in the special counsel's reports on the classified documents Trump absconded with and stored in a Mar-a-Lago bathroom OR the brazen, monthslong election interference scheme he orchestrated to maintain power after losing the 2020 election. What's the problem, Donald?

Biden moves to seal environmental legacy with major conservation announcement
President Joe Biden on Tuesday will travel to California to designate a pair of new national monuments, safeguarding nearly 850,000 acres of ecologically and culturally significant land in the Golden State from new drilling, mining, and other development. The new designations are part of the outgoing administration’s eleventh-hour push to protect sensitive lands and waters before Donald Trump and his gold-plated wrecking ball return to the White House later this month. The MAGA cult leader has a record of chipping away at protected landscapes and, of course, is pledging to prioritize fossil fuel drilling and other industrial development across the country.

Canada's Justin Trudeau resigns, ending nine-year run as prime minister
Under growing pressure from his own party, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced he will step down and end his nine-year stretch as leader. Trudeau said he would stay on in office until his Liberal Party can choose a new leader, and that Parliament would be suspended until March 24. Trudeau's personal unpopularity with Canadians had become an increasing drag on his party's fortunes in advance of federal elections later this year. Acknowledging as much, Trudeau said, "This country deserves a real choice in the next election and it has become clear to me that if I'm having to fight internal battles, I cannot be the best option in that election."
Trump’s border czar searching for third-party nations to take migrants
It's an interesting and probably catastrophic conundrum team MAGA has on its hands: where to send millions of immigrants, many of whom have been in the United States for years and years, after they've theoretically been rounded up en masse. Aside from the shocking inhumanity, the logistics of such an audacious operation seem damn-near impossible.
Fewer than 1 in 1,000 US adolescents receive gender-affirming medications, researchers find
As conservatives and Republicans wage an all-out attack on healthcare for transgender youth, it’s been difficult to determine the number of young people actually receiving gender-affirming medications, leaving far too much room for exaggerated and false claims by right-wing ideologues. Now, a medical journal has published the most reliable estimate yet and the numbers are predictably low, reflecting more clearly on medical practices now being weighed by the Supreme Court. Fewer than 1 in 1,000 US adolescents with commercial insurance received gender-affirming medications — puberty blockers or hormones — during a recent five-year period, according a study by JAMA Pediatrics released Monday. That's less than 0.1% — and a far cry from the number fearmongering conservatives would have their constituents scared shitless into believing. "We are not seeing inappropriate use of this sort of care," said lead author Landon Hughes, a Harvard University public health researcher. "And it’s certainly not happening at the rate at which people often think it is."

Trump Jr. expected to visit Greenland on Tuesday amid father’s obsession with buying island that is not for sale
Don (still not estranged!) Trump Jr. has apparently been deployed to advance his daddy's big plans to buy a sovereign territory that most definitely is not for sale. This should go well.
