When disasters strike, disease outbreaks often follow, making an already difficult crisis worse. Individuals like you help Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) stop disease outbreaks in their tracks. Learn how we responded to a triple emergency in Kenya thanks to our generous community of supporters:

1) In Kenya, standing water left by heavy rains created breeding grounds for mosquitos. This led to malaria outbreaks in two different counties, while measles spread in a third county, all with limited access to health care. 2) In Baringo, MSF treated 3,035 people for malaria. Our teams also distributed 8,800 mosquito nets to prevent further spread. 3) In Turkana, 8 out of 10 patients tested positive for malaria. Across 16 villages, MSF provided almost 3,000 outpatient consultations. 4) In Marsabit, MSF carried out a mass vaccination campaign. Our teams protected 9,874 children against measles.
