Beginning the 119th Congress | Priorities Survey

.Dear Friend,

I hope you’re staying safe and warm during this cold and wintery Kansas weather.

On Friday I was sworn in to the 119th Congress. I’m humbled to again represent Kansans and serve as your voice in our nation’s capital.

Our Republican majority in the House is now complemented by Republican control of the Senate and, after Jan. 20, the White House. Together, we’ll roll back damaging policies from the past four years so our nation and citizens can flourish. I look forward to implementing an America First agenda that focuses on pro-growth tax reform that lets you keep more of your money, securing our border, lowering prices, reining in reckless Washington spending, and supporting our farmers and ranchers.

Headline: DOGE Caucus, Government Reform Op-ed

.The federal government was designed to be limited in scope, but has grown bigger and bigger, adding more burdens to Americans. I recently published an op-ed on how the new House DOGE Caucus is ready to help rein in unnecessary bureaucracy and cut wasteful spending by working with President-elect Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency. Headline: Authoring Derby Informer Op-ed

.On the last day of the year, I published an op-ed in the Derby Informer highlighting the opportunity Congress will have in the new year – and new Congress – to usher in reforms to bring about a new, improved economic outlook for our nation. After years of high inflation, Kansans and all Americans are ready for this fresh new start. You can read the op-ed here or below.

Headline: Addressing Violence, Terror in Our Nation

.New Year’s celebrations, which should be a time of celebration, excitement and hope, were dampened this year by two senseless acts of violence in New Orleans and Las Vegas that ended lives and altered countless others. My condolences and prayers go to those killed, injured, or impacted and their families. Americans deserve to live in safety – and they deserve answers about these atrocities – and I appreciate the efforts of law enforcement to get to the bottom of these acts.
