Hi friends, 

Last week, I was officially sworn into the 119th Congress, and I wanted to share my thoughts with you as we head into this new session together.

Right now, Republicans have a five-seat majority in the House. That’s already one of the smallest majorities in history — and it will narrow even more once Donald Trump takes office in a few weeks and appoints a few Republicans in the House to his cabinet.

We don’t know what the next two years have in store, but I can tell you that I will fight each and every day to ensure Democrats hold the line against the Trump policies that will make life harder for everyday Americans. We will never stop fighting to protect our fundamental rights, lower costs for working families, and create a future where everyone has a fair shot at success.

I know the fights that lie ahead won’t be easy, but I believe that we can stand up for American families and move our country forward as long as folks like you continue to stand with us.
