Each month we hold Planning Commission meetings and present to the Board of Island County Commissioners on topics relevant to Island County’s 2025 Comprehensive Plan Update. Below are our upcoming meetings and engagement opportunities.
Board of County Commissioners
Long Range Planning will be presenting to the Board on January 8th on the timeline for updating the Comprehensive Plan in 2025. This timeline includes the draft and final release schedule, public meetings, and public hearings at both the Board and Planning Commission. Planning Commission
The Planning Commission will be meeting on January 15th at 6 PM. Melanie Bacon, Chair of the Board of Island County Commissioners, will give an update to the Planning Commission to kick off 2025. The agenda also includes a presentation from Transpo Group, the consultant working in support of the Transportation Element update for the 2025 Comprehensive Plan, as well as a presentation by Long Range Planning on our schedule for the 2025 Comprehensive Plan Update. Engagement Opportunities from Partners
Island County is updating its Comprehensive Plan, and your voice matters! Island Roots Housing created this Housing Survey as part of the Community Engagement Consortium to ensure county leaders hear directly from the community.
This survey is an opportunity to share your insights on housing needs, challenges, and opportunities in our community. Your input will play a critical role in shaping housing policies and guiding how the county addresses growth, affordability, and accessibility in the years to come.
