As snow falls across the DC region today, I can’t help but think about the storm we faced four years ago. January 6th was one of the darkest days in our nation’s history — an attack on the Capitol, on democracy, and on everything we stand for.

I’ll never forget the chaos, the fear, and the violence that unfolded that day. But what sticks with me most is the resolve we showed to finish the Electoral College count, despite everything. It reminded me why this fight matters so much.

Today, I trekked through the snow to perform my Constitutional duty to oversee the counting of the Electoral College results. Democrats didn't like the result of the 2025 election, but not a single one of us objected. Because in a democracy, we respect the will of the people.

The Capitol may be fortified today, but the real defense of our democracy happens in every community, every election, and every vote. That’s why I need your help to keep fighting. We’re building the resources to take on Trump, expose the truth, and protect what’s at stake.
