Happy New Year from all of us at Sister District! As we welcome 2025, we’re filled with hope and determination for the road ahead—and immense gratitude for you, the heart of this grassroots team.

During our Season of Giving fundraising sprint, your incredible support made all the difference. Hundreds of Sister District supporters pitched in, helping us raise $23,480, which will be matched dollar-for-dollar to double the impact of this community’s generosity. Together, that’s $46,960 to kick off our urgent work to build Democratic power in the states in 2025 and beyond. 

This investment couldn’t come at a more crucial time. As we brace for the challenges of a federal GOP trifecta, it’s clear that Democratic state-level leadership will be the last line of defense for protecting our democracy, advancing progressive policies, and safeguarding our rights. 

Every dollar donated last month strengthens our efforts to equip our volunteers and candidates with tools, training, and support. And it helps us expand our team’s capacity as we hit the ground running for the Virginia elections in 2025 and prepare for elections in 2026. 

Sister District isn’t wasting any time. We’ve mobilized and raised more than $20k in critical funds for Kannan Srinivasan and JJ Singh—two important champions running in the VA special elections happening tomorrow. Your support is directly fueling this urgent work, ensuring that every effort is made to win these pivotal, majority-determining races. 

The stakes are high, but together, we have the power to resist regressive policies and build a stronger, brighter future.
