Johh, it's been a minute since we've talked.

With Donald Trump's reelection and Congress under GOP leadership, it's clear we'll be facing an uphill battle in the fight for the future of our country this year. I wanted to reintroduce myself and tell you a bit more about my priorities.

I'm Diana DeGette — fourth generation Coloradan and proud representative of Colorado's First Congressional District. I got started as a public defender, representing civil rights cases because I wanted to help people and couldn't accept injustice when I saw it. Then, I ran for State House and then Congress because I realized that I could help even more folks in the Denver area. Since then, I haven't stopped answering the call to uplift our community.

Johh, there are a lot of lawmakers in D.C. who want to make headlines, but I'm here to make change. No matter who is in the White House or the Speaker's chair, I'm committed to making sure not just the Denver area, but our country is a place where everyone can thrive. That means fighting for reproductive freedom, a clean environment, safe and affordable places to live, civil rights for all, safety from gun violence, good-paying jobs, and so much more.
