Friend, Trump has certainly “stretched the truth” about a lot of things over the years. Bankruptcies, taxes owed, assaults, criminal offenses…he just changes the script and MAGA eats it all up. No matter the evidence, no matter the victims, no matter the circumstances. Even considering this career full of fallacies, his biggest feat, by far, is how he's been able to change the narrative on one of the darkest days in American history.
He called an angry mob to Washington with the goal of hanging the vice president. He forced lawmakers from both sides of the aisle to take cover and fear for their lives. He looked on as police officers were beaten and murdered. He watched as the windows were broken, the offices were rifled through, and the noose was erected on the lawn of the People’s House. It wasn’t a false flag. It wasn’t spontaneous. It wasn’t a day of love. It was an attack planned by Donald Trump and his supporters. We will never forget what happened on January 6th, 2021.
