A. - As one of its first legislative actions, the House is set to vote this week on important legislation to sanction those responsible for the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) outrageous attacks against Israel.
This vote comes less than two months after the ICC issued arrest warrants for Israeli officials on baseless charges of “war crimes” and “crimes against humanity” — reaching a new low in its morally bankrupt and politically motivated attacks against the Jewish state.

Background
Both the current and incoming administrations, as well as bipartisan leaders in Congress, have made clear that the International Criminal Court’s politically motivated campaign against Israel is dangerous and damaging to U.S. interests.
The ICC’s decision in November to issue arrest warrants for Prime Minister Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Gallant is a shameful stain on the Court and is a threat not only to Israel but to all democracies.
Israel is our democratic ally fighting on the front lines against our shared enemies. While Israel fights a just war against genocidal terrorists just as any other country would do, its enemies cynically use civilians as human shields to increase international pressure on Israel.
Israeli leaders across the political spectrum have denounced the ICC’s outrageous decision as an attack on Israel itself. Israel has a robust legal system that scrutinizes governmental and military actions and this action by an international court is completely unnecessary.
In the past, the ICC has also targeted the U.S., and the court's decision could set a precedent to be employed against America and other democratic countries.
