Dear John,

I hope that you have found rest and reflection over the holiday season, and are enjoying these first few days of the new year.

Ruth’s List Florida is ready to take on 2025 and all that this year will bring. Our mission is to elect more pro-choice women leaders in a state where abortion is banned at 6-weeks, a state where our rights to our own bodies are constantly under attack. Without equal representation, we cannot truly restore our freedoms or secure full reproductive healthcare access for Floridians.

This fight is not an easy one. Our political environment does not favor pro-choice policies or women leaders— recent events like Governor DeSantis’ continued targeting of twice duly-elected State Attorney Monique Worrell remind us of this challenging reality. 

This is an uphill battle for the rights and freedoms that we deserve, and now is not the time to hide or cower to those who seek to control our bodies. Now is the time to emerge with our heads held high, standing strongly in solidarity with all of Florida’s women and fighting harder than ever. 

The women of Florida deserve so much more.
