Votes anticipated in opening days of session – contact
your legislators!

In November, a House committee voted to fast-track the following resolutions to amend Virginia’s constitution:

  • an extreme “right to abortion” amendment,
  • an amendment to repeal the one-man/one-woman marriage provision, and
  • an amendment to restore voting rights.

As a result, House floor votes on these measures will occur as early as Jan. 8, the first day of the 2025 session. Senate leaders have announced that they too will take swift action on these resolutions once session begins.
