Dear team,
Today, I hope you will join me in reflecting on the attack on our Capitol that occurred four years ago this very day.
I’m reminded of the brave Capitol Police Officers and other first responders who risked their lives to defend the Capitol and the democratic processes happening inside. I’m reminded of the lies spread by many of my far-right Republican colleagues. Today, more than ever, I’m reminded of how precious our democracy is, and how carefully it must be defended.
In 2025, our fight for democracy will be even more critical. Far-right Republicans in Congress continue to spread dangerous misinformation about the 2020 election and the January 6th insurrection. They are trying to pass restrictive voting laws that could disenfranchise millions of voters. Instead of protecting our democratic institutions, Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress are trying to tear them down.
It’s critical that we continue to fight for democracy, for fair elections, and for voting rights – together.
