You may recognize Danyela’s name from her time as a 50CAN National Voices Fellow in Cohort V. Since then, she has continued to champion better outcomes for kids, most recently through her work advocating for high-quality public charter schools and increased support for multilingual learners, as well as through passionate testimony to the US Congress. Her powerful voice has been featured in various media outlets, including the New York Sun, the New York Post, City Journal, and Fox News.
In her new position, Danyela will focus on school choice and other policies in New York City and state, as well as national issues like literacy, district right-sizing and fiscal cliffs. She’ll also work closely with our state campaigns as they implement their own agendas in the coming months. We know Danyela’s extensive experience, insights, and genuine dedication, as a former school district staffer, advocate, graduate of the Kennedy School and current Community Education Council member in Manhattan’s District 2, will elevate our efforts to ensure students and communities nationwide get the education that is right for them.
Please join us in welcoming Danyela Souza Egorov as the 2025 William E. Simon Policy Fellow.
