Today, we will see the peaceful certification of the results of the November 2024 presidential election.
That was not the case four years ago. None of us can forget the violence of January 6th, 2021, when rioters overran the Capitol and attempted to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
The peaceful transfer of power is paramount to maintaining a healthy Democracy. It is incumbent on all of us to protect that process.
Tomorrow, I will be sworn in to serve my second term as State Representative for the North Hills. I will stand in the well of the House and pledge to uphold my constitutional duties, including the right of voters to decide who their elected leaders are.
As power changes in Washington, DC, Democrats will continue to control the State House by one vote in Harrisburg. Protecting our Democracy starts at the state level, and I am committed to working with my colleagues to do that every day.
