Dear Friends, 

Not many times I’ve been all grins with President Biden but today is a special day for many retired teachers and first responders.

THE WINDFALL ELIMINATION PROVISION AND GOVERNMENT PENSION OFFSET (WEP/GPO) REPEAL BILL IS NOW LAW! 

In 2018 I first campaigned for my seat in Congress and promised to never stop until it was passed and retirees that had been robbed of social security got back what was rightfully theirs. I also promised to work with ANYONE to get it done, and so here we are today. 

Six years later, we have won, and I am grateful to every retiree that has reminded me of my promise along the way. I am especially grateful to my friend Tim Lee of TRTA (Texas Retired Teachers Association) who joined me today for the signing.
