WHAT'S NEW IN NY-02

Andrew Recognizes Local Eagle Scouts

Yesterday, two Eagle Scout Courts of Honor were held to celebrate the achievements of outstanding young leaders in our community. At the Seaford American Legion Post 1132, John Melloy of Copiague was recognized for earning the rank of Eagle Scout. Later in the day, Emmet Blaney, Matthew Harkin, and Adam Rossi were honored at a ceremony on Merrick Road in Massapequa. Earning the rank of Eagle Scout requires years of dedication, leadership, and service, including the completion of a significant community project that demonstrates initiative and a commitment to making a positive impact. Less than 4% of Scouts achieve this distinguished rank, which is a lifelong testament to their character and determination. Andrew was proud to provide Congressional Certificates of Recognition for this impressive accomplishment.

Honoring West Sayville Fire Chief

This week, the West Sayville Fire Department recognized Brian D'Onofrio for his dedicated service as Chief of the Department over the past two years. Andrew applauds Chief D'Onofrio for his exceptional leadership and commitment to keeping our community safe. His service reflects the dedication and courage that define our first responders. Standing with those who protect our community is a top priority, and Andrew remains committed to supporting our first responders and ensuring they have the resources they need to continue their vital work.

CASEWORK HIGHLIGHT: Resolving Passport Issue

Andrew's office recently assisted a constituent who encountered an issue while renewing a passport with a name change. Despite submitting the correct information, the passport was processed with the constituent’s maiden name instead of her new one. Andrew’s casework team quickly intervened, working with the agency to resolve the issue. The constituent received a new passport with the correct name at no additional charge.

Andrew knows how frustrating dealing with bureaucracy can be. That is why he has an entire team dedicated to helping constituents get what they need from the government. If you need help dealing with a federal agency, contact our office and our team will get to work on your case.

KEEPING UP WITH CONGRESS

House Kicks Off First Legislative Session of 119th Congress

On Friday, the House adopted its Rules Package for the 119th Congress, setting the stage for a transparent and efficient legislative session. In addition to establishing procedural rules, the package includes 12 priority bills focused on securing the border, unleashing American energy, addressing the fentanyl crisis, protecting elections, and supporting law enforcement. Andrew proudly supported this package, which provided for the consideration of one of his bills, the POLICE Act. The Rules Package reflects his commitment to addressing national priorities and delivering results for NY-02. With this roadmap in place, the 119th Congress is ready to get to work for the American people.
