Hi John,

With the new year comes new goals, new ambitions, and new opportunities.

I know we just got out of a presidential election year, but what you may not know is that there are equally (if not more) important elections in Oregon this year: school board elections!

Parents and communities are paying more and more attention to what our students are learning and what is going on inside our schools. There are so many ways to get involved, but I wanted to reach out to pique your interest.

Have you ever considered running for school board? Or do you know someone who would be a great fit?

It may seem like a daunting thought, so I have a series of virtual interest forums and training sessions [[link removed]] scheduled to give you information and answer any questions about what it may look like to run and serve on your local school board. The main requirement? You have to care about the children in your community, which I know you do.

Our first session is next week! Details below:

Do you know someone who fits the bill? Maybe it’s you!

Date: Thursday, January 8th

Times: 12:00 pm OR 4:30 pm

Where: Virtual on Zoom [[link removed]]

What we’ll cover:

What qualities make a good school board member? What skills are most helpful? What kind of time commitment is expected?Do you have to have kids to be on the school board? Why do we need pro-life people on the school board? Register Here [[link removed]]

Even if you aren’t interested in running this year, I hope you will still join and help us identify great candidates in your area!
