Yesterday, I was officially sworn in to the 119th Congress — and I’m ready to hit the ground running for the people of Kansas. I understand that this job is a privilege and a responsibility like no other. Thousands of hard-working Kansans have placed their faith in me to fight for our needs, defend our values, and advocate for our communities in the halls of Congress — and I will not let them down. Today and every day, I am eager to bring real change and real progress to Kansas. That’s why, throughout my time in office, I’ve worked with both sides of the aisle to get things done. Working with both Republicans and Democrats, I’ve passed legislation to lower drug costs for seniors, fund critical infrastructure projects across Kansas, combat climate change, deliver resources to rural communities, and codify same-sex marriage rights into federal law. And in the weeks and months ahead, there will be more where that came from. No matter what party is in charge in Washington, I will continue to roll up my sleeves to deliver common-sense solutions to the families and communities that need it most. I know there’s a lot of hard work ahead in this new session of Congress, and I’m more committed than ever to getting it done.
