When Mike Johnson rose to the speakership two years ago, it was out of the chaos that has defined the Republican-controlled House of Representatives.

This isn’t what public service is supposed to look like. As elected officials, our duty is to serve the American people who entrust us with the power to shape their future. Not to indulge in petty political games. Not to pander to Donald Trump and Elon Musk.
