Dear John,

As you kick off your plans for the new year, Christians in Syria are facing the looming horror of uncertainty, with dangerous signs that the situation could grow even worse—all because of their faith.

It’s devastating.

Since jihadist forces took over major cities last month, chaos has swept through Syria.

Ever since churches have been under attack. Families forced to flee their homes. It feels like history is repeating itself—another ISIS-like nightmare.

But there is something you can do to help.

Together, you and I can fight for these Christians—our brothers and sisters in faith—and make sure their voices are heard.

Will you sign this petition urging Ms. Nazila Ghanea, the UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Religion or Belief, to act immediately to protect Christians in Syria before it’s too late?

The situation is beyond urgent. Christians in Syria are living in fear, with their lives and faith under constant threat.

Just last month, terrorists fired on a cathedral in Hama, desecrated crosses and graves. Others like Samaan Satme and Helena Khashouf were brutally murdered in their home for the “crime” of being Christian.

If we don’t act now, we could watch how one of the oldest Christian communities in the world is eradicated forever. Just a few minutes of your time could make all the difference for those who desperately need us.

You and I have a responsibility and a role to play in their protection.

Thank you for standing with fellow Christians in need.

P.S. Don’t stop here—please share this petition with your family, friends, and everyone you know. The more voices we raise, the stronger our message will be: we stand with the Christians in Syria.
Here's the email we sent you earlier on this:

Dear John,

While you and I celebrated this Christmas season in peace, not everyone was so lucky.

Christians in Syria spent this Christmas in fear!

I can’t wrap my head around what they’re going through— that’s why I had to reach out to you, right now, as this new year begins.

A month after the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, Syrian Christians are facing a terrifying new reality. The rise of Islamist groups in power has brought fear and uncertainty, stirring painful memories of ISIS’s brutal reign.

Remember what ISIS did? They systematically targeted Christians—burning churches, tearing down crosses, and kidnapping or killing entire families. For years, these communities lived in terror before ISIS was defeated in 2019.

Now, it feels like history is repeating itself. Syrian Christians are once again at risk of persecution, displacement, and violence.

I can’t watch any longer, and just do nothing about it.

This could be a moment of life and death for Christians in Syria and they need YOU—right now.

You can demand decisive action to protect Syria’s Christians. Will you do your bit, this new year?

Sign the petition demanding Nazila Ghanea, UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Religion, to take decisive action to stop the persecution of Christians in Syria and ensure their full protection.

After surviving ISIS’s terror 10 years ago, they’re now reliving the nightmare. This is the reality Christians in Syria are facing.

Just a few days ago, in Hama, terrorists opened fire on the Greek Orthodox cathedral. Just imagine that - gunshots hitting the very walls where you pray (1).

The Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch in Syria announced the cancellation of Christmas and New Year celebrations due to the "current security conditions" following the shootings.

Nearby, they ripped crosses off graves. And in St. George’s Church, terrorists destroyed sacred icons and crosses (2).

… It gets worse.

On December 13, in the Valley of the Christians, Samaan Satme and Helena Khashouf were brutally murdered in their home. Samaan was beheaded. Helena was shot. Both in their home (3).

I can’t stop thinking about what these families and communities must be going through. And the more we wait, the more in danger they will be.

Just imagine standing in the place where the disciples first called themselves Christians. Where St. Paul first preached. Where Jesus’s own language, Aramaic, is still being spoken.

Now imagine it disappearing. Gone.

And what’s breaking my heart is that no one seems to care. It’s like the world has forgotten them - Again.

But YOU and I haven’t.

That’s why I need you to help me by signing this petition to mount utmost pressure on the UN Special Rapporteur for religious freedom to act NOW—before it’s too late and Christianity disappears from Syria.

These are our brothers and sisters in Christ, we’re talking about. If we don’t stand up for them, who will?

That’s why this campaign is so important. Together, we’re working to make sure the world doesn’t ignore these Christians.

You’ll be urging the United Nations to take immediate action to protect Christians in Syria, by:

Demand investigations into the violence and persecution targeting Christians.

Amplify the voices of Syrian Christians so their needs are prioritized in international aid.

Hold attackers accountable through international justice mechanisms.

Push the UN to pass resolutions ensuring the protection of Christians in Syria.

CitizenGO is mobilizing rapidly to rally people like you.

Together, we’re spreading the word, building pressure, and demanding real concrete action to protect Christians in danger. But we can’t do this without you.

This campaign is how you and I can fight for them. It’s how we can make sure their voices are being heard.

Sign here to demand the United Nations acts now to ensure justice and safety for Syrian Christians facing persecution.
Every signature, every share, every prayer for these people, matters. Thank you for joining this fight.
