East Tennesseans don't ask for a whole lot, but they're concerned about how Washington handles their hard-earned money, and itās high time we got serious about that.
Ā
We burn through a trillion dollars every 100 days, and this type of reckless spending has driven inflation through the roof. I'm sad to report that Tennessee is one of the top 10 states that has been hit hardest by the cost-of-living crisis.
Ā
Our national debt isnāt just a number; itās our greatest threat. If we donāt stop this gravy train, weāre headed straight over the cliff, and America will become another third-world country.
Ā
All things considered, the next Speaker of the House must be willing to get down to brass tacks and right these wrongs, and Iām confident that newly re-elected Mike Johnson knows that.
Ā
Speaker Johnson is a good man, and I consider him a close friend. Heās a Christian who loves his family and a leader who is responsive to his fellow Republicansā concernsāsomething Iāve rarely seen during my time in Congress.
Ā
It's a tough job, but I gave Speaker Johnson my vote because I believe he's the right man at the right time. He's a man of integrity, and I have faith that he'll lead with conviction as he continues in his role as Speaker of the House.
Ā
This country is in a rough spot, and Americans deserve a government that respects their hard work. With Speaker Johnson at the helm, we can restore fiscal sanity and prove that Washington still serves the people.Ā
Ā
Itās time to deliver on our promises and make America great again!
