Thanks to the support of thousands of Americans ranging from right here in Florida’s 6th Congressional district to far flung corners of the union like Maine and Hawaii, we raised over $137,000 in small dollar contributions from 5000+ individual donors in the days since we entered this special election.

Before we started out on this journey we were warned by doubting Thomases that the Democratic base was burnt out, defeated, and apathetic in the aftermath of Kamala Harris’s defeat. We were told that we would be hard pressed to find people who would donate and or volunteer on this race. They told us to give up.

My view then and today has not changed. When the chips are down and we’re backed into a corner is when we fight the hardest. It’s when we see what we are truly capable of.

These fundraising numbers are a resounding shot across the bow of the MAGA movement, with this message: in the first test of their already fracturing coalition, MAGA will face a viable and dangerous threat from a Democratic challenger.
