Today, I am honored to be officially sworn in as the next Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), taking on the torch passed by Congressman Horsford.
We have a unique challenge ahead of us, but I will follow in Rep. Horsford’s legacy by leading with optimism and using every tool at our disposal to advocate for Black families and communities across the country.
Our work will require us to do everything we can to center ourselves and build up our beloved community. As leader of the largest Congressional Black Caucus in history, I’m ready to meet this moment and lead with integrity. We will continue to fight for equity, criminal justice reform, and the economic development and advancement of Black families and communities.
Our work towards freedom, justice, and equity continues to take on more urgency, and we must use everything we can to win this fight and accomplish our goals –
Whether you can give or simply share the news with your friends and family, I am determined to be the leader we need at this moment so my colleagues and I can deliver for Black families and all marginalized people across America.
Thank you for all your support!
