Since the election, over 50 members of Congress and officials in the incoming Trump administration have faced false alarms, ranging from pipe bomb threats to swatting attacks that send armed officers to their homes under false pretenses. One swatting incident involving Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene tragically resulted in a fatal car crash involving a responding officer. Meanwhile, several Democratic Congressional Members were targeted during Thanksgiving, risking the safety of the members, their families, and house guests, with threats accompanied by messages referencing “MAGA.” While the true origins of these threats remain currently unproven, the pattern of politically motivated intimidation is undeniable, politically motivated, and completely unacceptable. Both parties and leadership, with an obvious deafening silence from the Biden Administration, have called for a reduction in inflammatory rhetoric, which fuels the climate of hostility. Democratic leaders’ warnings of existential threats to democracy and Republican accusations of socialism both exacerbate divisions. However, this bipartisan acknowledgment does little to address the immediate dangers lawmakers face. Capitol Police Chief Thomas Manger reported over 700 investigations into these threats, straining an already understaffed Capitol Hill police force. Despite recent efforts to hire additional officers and enhance operational capabilities, current measures are insufficient to ensure lawmakers’ safety, particularly in their home districts. The numbers are clear: threats against lawmakers have reached a crisis point. The federal government must act decisively to provide Secret Service-level protection to members of Congress and high-ranking officials. Protecting those who serve the nation is not just a matter of safety—it is a defense of democracy itself. Political violence must be met with zero tolerance and maximum prevention.   Republican Sweeps Signal “Woke” Nonsense is History   Donald Trump’s commanding victory over Kamala Harris in the November presidential election was a political triumph and a cultural signal. With victories in all seven battleground states and a 2.3 million lead in the national popular vote, Trump achieved a level of success rare in the modern polarized political climate. Congressional Republicans capitalized on this momentum, retaining a House majority and re-electing Mike Johnson Speaker of the House and flipping the Senate by defeating long-established Democratic incumbents. Regional realignments were clear. West Virginia, once a Democratic stronghold, handed Trump a 42-point margin. Ohio and Florida, once bellwethers, appear to have solidified as Republican territory. Trump’s 13-point win in Florida mirrored Governor Ron DeSantis’s earlier dominance, signaling a broader shift among Hispanic voters. This shift isn’t confined to electoral outcomes. Democrats are grappling with cultural missteps, particularly on issues like transgender policies for minors, which have alienated moderate voters. The reversal of support for puberty blockers in Europe and Disney’s retreat from promoting transgender narratives in children’s programming shows how out of step Democrats have become with the public. The October 2023 Hamas attack on Israel further exposed Democratic vulnerabilities. The administration’s tepid support for Israel, coupled with attempts to placate pro-Palestinian voters, alienated Jewish communities and lost critical states like Michigan. This miscalculation underscored the party’s struggle to appeal to mainstream voters. Republicans, leveraging Trump’s return to the White House, are framing themselves as the party of “normalcy.” With 66% of Americans identifying as Christian and a majority holding moderate or conservative views, Democrats face a reckoning. Without significant moderation, they risk not just losing elections but a generational, cultural backlash that reshapes American politics. Democrats overplayed their hand with their “woke” nonsense.
