Social Security Fairness Act, Co-Sponsored by Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz, Heads to President’s Desk - The Social Security Fairness Act repeals the Government Pension Offset (GPO) and Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP), two outdated policies that unfairly reduced Social Security benefits for teachers, first responders, and other public service employees who earned additional Social Security benefits through part-time work or careers prior to or after entering public service. These changes will ensure that retirees receive the benefits they earned.
