Fueled by Donald Trump, Republican leadership has been spending money attacking me since February hoping to find a new Republican to challenge me, undermine our movement and take me out to elect a Trump loyalist to Congress.

Today, the National Republican Campaign Committee's hand-picked candidate announced his campaign in Oregon to attack the Green New Deal, parrot NRA talking points, and follow orders from Donald Trump.

Wealthy elite and special interests are lining up to write checks; they'd love to replace me with a Republican party-line puppet.

They'll stop at nothing to drain my resources and try to weaken my candidacy - they even sent out a press release highlighting my Democratic primary opponent! The thing is, they think they have a shot next November because our district is one of the most politically divided congressional districts in the nation; it's a true battleground and a seat that Democrats have to fight to maintain it.

But they're underestimating our grassroots movement. Let's show them that we won't back down!

* They took notice of my early support for a committee on climate change and signing on as an original co-sponsor of the Green New Deal and Climate Emergency Declaration.
* They're totally opposed to my agenda to address climate change by modernizing and electrifying our transportation system to move our country away from fossil fuel consumption.
* They're pushing back against my leadership fighting to expand affordable, universal health care and working to lower prescription drug costs.
* They want to quiet my voice calling for comprehensive immigration reform, a Marshall Plan for key countries in Latin America, and outrage at the Trump administration's abuses at the border.

This election, more than ever, we need to stand together to defend our seat in Congress! I never take an election for granted, and this is one of the earliest that I've ever been targeted - so you can guarantee that I'm taking these threats seriously.

Our opponents will do everything in their power to attack me, lie about my positions, and divide us to weaken our movement. But I know that you'll be by my side and that your vote can't be bought or manipulated!
