*Today in Israel is Jerusalem Day*- commemorating the reunification of the city after Israel gained control over its entirety in 1967.
Celebrating Jerusalem as a unified city today ignores the inequality and injustice faced by the 300,000+ Palestinian Arab residents of East Jerusalem (which includes areas that were never considered Jerusalem but became so when Israel expanded the municipal borders). To make matters worse, Jerusalem Day has often included incitement and violence against them.
*Instead of commemorating a false narrative on this Jerusalem Day, APN encourages you to take action* to help a family about to be unjustly evicted from the very home they built there 50 years ago.

*An Israeli government decision to annex large parts of the West Bank would threaten the future of Israeli-Palestinian relations and the future of the Authority (PA). *On Tuesday, PA President Mahmoud Abbas declared that agreements with Israel and the US, including those security-related, would cease. Some analysts predict that Israel continuing forward with annexation might cause the collapse of the Palestinian Authority. Some predict another eruption of violent protests in the West Bank.
*What would annexation mean for Palestinians?* Does Mahmoud Abbas' PLO have a plan for reacting to annexation on the world stage?
Addressing these and other questions will be *veteran Palestinian diplomat Dr. Saeb Erekat, the Secretary General of the PLO's Executive Committee*, who for many years served as the Palestinian chief negotiator with Israel.
