Last night at about 2am, I returned home from a few weeks in Tajikistan.

I was there continuing my service as an officer in the US Navy Reserve. Ever since my 2016 deployment where I worked on the conflict in Yemen and Syria, I've been an operations planner with US Special Operations Command Central (Middle East theatre). On this trip, I led US special operations planning, working alongside counterparts from around the region, to build relationships with parters in the region, coordinate anti-terrorism operations, and contribute to regional stability.

Check out some of my pictures by following me on Facebook. Here's the link:

Overall, it was a very successful mission and I'm proud to have been a part of it. As my Green Beret chief correctly pointed out, it's operations like this, and countless others that the American people never hear about, that contribute to maintaining the peace and keeping us safe.

Forgive me if you sent one of the hundreds of e-mails I haven't replied to since announcing my run for the Florida House before heading out of town. I'm completely overwhelmed by the support and I just wanted to check-in and let you know I'm getting back to work!

Together, we will make sure "service" is returned to Tallahassee. I've had enough of self-interested lobbyists, lawyers, and sellouts in our state. It's time for a change and I'm so proud to be a part of the future of our great state.
