At the 21st EU-Ukraine summit in Kyiv, leaders will reaffirm the strength of the political and economic ties between the EU and Ukraine. They will also discuss the way ahead on EU-Ukraine relations.

Ministers will hold a policy debate on the economy of wellbeing. This subject is being prepared as an umbrella theme for the health and social sector during the Finnish presidency.

Economic and Financial Affairs Council
Ministers will hold a discussion on EU's own resources and new sources of financing in view of the multiannual financial framework (MFF) package for 2021-2027.

Informal meeting of environment ministers
The Informal Meeting of Environment/Climate Ministers will explore three themes: circular economy, biodiversity and climate change. Europe's future wellbeing and prosperity depend on our ability to find solutions to the climate crisis and the loss of biodiversity. A circular economy can provide us with tools to solve the sustainability crisis.

Populism and fundamental rights - suburban and rural areas
The hearing will discuss the socio-economic causes of the rise of populism in suburban and rural areas and why populism seems to have taken root in these areas. It will also explore the approach that Civil Society should take when facing this issue and analyse possible best practices.

The main objectives of this opinion are to bring a better recognition of the challenges of the metropolitan regions, of their contribution to the cohesion policy and territorial cohesion as well as to recommend measures to support them while paying attention to urban-rural links.

Stakeholder Consultation "The potential of the rail sector in delivering EU policy priorities"
Local and Regional Authorities (LRAs) have prime responsibility for designing and implementing public transport services on their territories and are also tasked with fostering greater territorial cohesion between urban and rural areas.

This forum is a global event for invited guests, held as part of the official programme of Finland’s Presidency. The forum will catalyse new perspectives on the effects of longer lives and ageing, especially the impact on people’s wellbeing, societies and economies.
