At this occasion the delegations of the EESC and its Chinese counterpart, the CESC, will discuss: the digital revolution and its impact on society and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Climate Agreement.

Populism and fundamental rights - suburban and rural areas
The hearing will discuss the socio-economic causes of the rise of populism in suburban and rural areas and why populism seems to have taken root in these areas. It will also explore the approach that Civil Society should take when facing this issue and analyse possible best practices.

It is one of the main events to be held in Helsinki during Finland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union and it is sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Finland and the European Commission.

High-Level forum on the Silver Econmy
This forum is a global event for invited guests, held as part of the official programme of Finland’s Presidency. The forum will catalyse new perspectives on the effects of longer lives and ageing, especially the impact on people’s wellbeing, societies and economies.
