Between 2007 and 2014, homelessness declined faster in California than the rest of the country – an 18 percent total decline in California compared to a 9 percent total decline in the rest of the country. And then something happened in 2014...

The recent passage of Prop 36 is historic. Despite opposition from Gov. Newsom, the majority of the state legislature, and a host of criminal rights groups, it passed in every county and earned over 68 percent of the yes vote statewide.

One would have to go back to Prop 13 in the 1970s to find a ballot initiative so thoroughly opposed by California’s political leadership yet overwhelmingly supported by the electorate.

Enhanced Obamacare Subsidies Define Taking Without Giving

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) is projecting that some 2.2 million people will become uninsured in 2026 if the enhanced premium subsidies that Democrats green-lit for exchange coverage expire as scheduled at the end of next year.

Eventually, the CBO says, the end of those subsidies will result in 3.8 million people, on average, going without coverage every year through 2034.
