JOHN, The new year is upon us, and unfortunately, it already feels heavy. By now, you’ve likely heard about the terrorist who drove into a crowd in New Orleans, killing 15 people and leaving dozens injured. And in Las Vegas, a Cybertruck loaded with explosives was detonated and burst into flames just outside the Trump Hotel, hurting people nearby. |
Yes, these terrorists were born right here in America—they’re not the first, and they probably won’t be the last. But let’s be clear: these people are not on our side. They hate everything we stand for and want to tear us apart, all while taking orders from vile terrorist groups overseas. The worst part is we’re still sending millions of unchecked dollars to the Taliban every dadgum week. They can hate us for free; why in the world would we fund their evil plans? I have a bill that would put a stop to the madness and defund the Taliban, but the national media won’t even talk about it—and Chuck Schumer is letting it get buried under a heap on his desk. I echo my colleague Senator John Kennedy, who said he won’t let the feds cover this up. We will get to the bottom of these attacks and get the answers we need. In the meantime, I ask that you join me in thanking our brave first responders, thinking about the victims’ families, and praying for those who are still fighting for their lives. Sincerely, Tim Burchett |
