Kitsap County Public Works seeks feedback on draft ADA Transition Plan
Kitsap County Public Works is accepting public comments on a draft Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transportation Transition Plan. Public comment on the draft plan is open through Friday, Jan. 31, 2025.
In developing this plan, Kitsap County has undertaken a comprehensive evaluation of its facilities and policies related to the public right of way to determine what types of access barriers exist for individuals with disabilities. This plan will be used to help guide future planning and implementation of necessary accessibility improvements. An ADA transition plan is one of the federally mandated requirements for state and local governments under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
All feedback received during the public review process will be considered. The draft plan will be finalized and adopted by the Kitsap County Board of Commissioners in the spring of 2025.
